Symptoms

Finding your way to helpful healthcare can be difficult when you are in discomfort. At the RI Hand & Orthopaedic Center, we take the time to listen to your symptoms and individual needs to make an accurate diagnosis and plan a truly helpful course of recovery.

To follow is a list of symptoms you may experience:

• pain in shoulder, elbow, wrist or hand
• numbness in arm, or one or more fingers
• joint tenderness or pain, especially in the thumb
• numbness at night
• locking or clicking of the fingers
• masses or swelling
• a cord or mass in the palm
• elbow pain on grasp or pinch
• loss of motion
• change in color or circulation
• skin changes
• work related injury
• trauma
  

Any of these symptoms, or combination of symptoms, may indicate that you have a number of different conditions. For your care to be as focused as possible, your doctor will discuss these in detail with you and establish a diagnosis and treatment plan.
